With its optimal location, just 15 miles west of Indianapolis, its proximity to the Indianapolis International Airport, which sits on its border, as well as two major interstates, I-70 and I-74, providing easy access, Hendricks County continues to be a popular destination for sports event organizers. Already home to big-time events such as the NHRA U.S. Nationals, Little League State tournaments, Indiana Elite North vs. South Soccer Challenge, ISWA Freestyle & Greco-Roman State Finals and Racemaker Productions’ No Luck Irish Run Half, Gobble Gallop and Indy TryTri triathlon, Hendricks County has the know-how and amenities necessary to take on virtually any sporting event.

The Town of Plainfield Parks and Recreation Department works with our local Optimist Club to provide first class athletic facilities and programs. Our partnership provides us with the opportunity to offer leagues and tournaments for soccer, football, baseball, softball and cheerleading. The community volunteer base is outstanding, and our partnership with Visit Hendricks County to help welcome visitors is key as our local businesses look forward to the opportunity to earn the business of those who visit for these events. A great example of that community and countywide collaboration came during last year’s Little League State Tournament at the Al & Jan Barker Sports Complex.
